Kiyin

  • Physical Description: Above average height, but not above six foot (about 5’11) and weight, an athletic build, short and shaggy blond hair, brown eyes (as a human), gold/amber eyes (after being turned)

  • Internal Motivation: So that he can return to his old life with his friends and family

  • Internal Conflict: He’s afraid he cannot hold onto his humanity

  • External Goal: Kiyin wants to find a cure

  • External Motivation: To rid the world of the plight of the Shetani

  • External Conflict: Both certain members of the Kimoyo and the king of the demon underworld, Yvris, want him dead before he can reach his goal

  Personality

• Short characterization: Kiyin is incredibly stubborn, with a strict moral code that he believes everyone should follow. He is very kind, but although he empathizes with everyone, he struggles to understand those who did not have a similar background to him.

• Their biggest failure/issue/flaw: Kiyin has a hero complex and thinks he knows what is best for everyone. He has in his mind that he can “save” everyone and thinks that everyone needs saving.

• Backstory: Sent to live with his aunt when his father died who was a violent alcoholic. When he was 8, he was discovered by a Kimoyo scout and sent to live and train in the Temple. As a result, he has a deep hatred for demons as well as alcohol. He also can't stand to see children hurt.

• Speech pattern: Proper, polite, speaks like a city person but with a slight country pronunciation for certain words

• Behaviour pattern: Stubborn, amiable, hardworking

Ahki

• Name: Ahki (Akihi)

• Gender: Male

• Age: 200+

• Role in the Narrative: Deuteragonist 

• Physical Description: Average height (about 5’8 or 5’9) and weight, a somewhat athletic build, slim but muscular, a bit thinner than Kiyin, long, messy black hair, crimson eyes

GMC

• Internal Goal-Help Kiyin become human again, and then return to his old life

• Internal Motivation-A desire to help Kiyin because he views him as having a strong character

• Internal Conflict-His own rapidly changing morality

• External Goal-Turn Kiyin human again

• External Motivation-Getting rid of Kiyin and the memories his presence brings back

• External Conflict-Both his side and the Kimoyo want to stop him

Personality

• Short characterization: Ahk is very stubborn and headstrong. He wants to be strong and desires power over all else. He views humans as pathetic and weak, and initially feels no regret killing them. He’s loyal, but isn’t sure how to live for himself and not someone else.

• Their biggest failure/issue/flaw: Ahki is a deeply angry person.
